SU2C’s Management Committee is responsible for steering the organization through the 2009 grants selection process and beyond. Committee members include the SU2C Co-Founders, noted leaders in cancer research and clinical care, members of the Scientific Advisory Committee, and patient advocates.
The five members of the Management Committee are:
Kathy Giusti, co-founder of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) and former pharmaceutical industry executive
John Glaspy, M.D., M.P.H., co-chief of Hematology and Medical Oncology division at UCLA's Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center
William N. Hait, M.D., Ph.D., Senior VP and Worldwide Head of Hematology Oncology Research & Development at Johnson & Johnson, and past president of AACR
Arnold J. Levine, Ph.D., professor at the Institute for Advanced Study and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey in Princeton, and Vice Chair of the SU2C Scientific Advisory Committee
SU2C’s Co-Founders have one vote. The Co-Founders are the group that established SU2C. Its nine members include Laura Ziskin, who was executive producer of the September 5th broadcast (who is a cancer survivor); the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) Board of Directors Chairperson Sherry Lansing (who is also Founder of the Sherry Lansing Foundation), EIF CEO Lisa Paulsen, and EIF Vice President Kathleen Lobb; the Noreen Fraser Foundation Founder Noreen Fraser (who is a cancer survivor); Rusty Robertson and Sue Schwartz of the Robertson Schwartz Agency; nonprofit executive Ellen Ziffren; and Katie Couric. Stand Up To Cancer is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
