Administration & Finance

Stephan Ceryanek, Vice President & Controller

Stephan joined the EIF team in December 2009 after spending 14 years at AIDS Project Los Angeles. He saw most of his friends from the '70s succumb to AIDS. He never really thought much about cancer as he'd never lost a loved one to it or even knew anyone who had had it. That was until it struck home for him when his mom's sister Margie was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003. She lost her battle in 2005, and in 2007, his cousin Pamela was diagnosed with lung cancer, which spread to her other organs. She's been undergoing many different treatments and continues to fight. His mom was diagnosed in December 2008 with Stage 4 cancer that had spread throughout her body and died on January 9, 2009 without undergoing any treatment. This was devastating for Stephan and his family.
